The themes of this fashion carnival are WORLD TREASURE, involved Dream Sky, Toraja, Butterfly, Thailand, Cactus, Kabuki, Mongol, Apocalypse, and Voyage. Jember Fashion Carnival is the Spectacular Fashion Carnival on The Street. Around 500 participants from around Indonesia took part in the carnival.
The Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) is the big event of Indonesian fashion in which presented the many kind of design of clothing and dresses by the famous Indonesian designers. In JFW 2010/2011 there will be more than sixty of Indonesia’s leading designers will partake in the event. Many of them will present collections inspired by the country’s rich heritage in different types of traditional fabrics while simultaneously keep their eyes on the present and future. All the shows are invites-only, targeted to celebrities, socialities, buyers, local and foreign media and all who love fashion.
This Jakarta Fashion Week is held annually and aimed to provide directions to the Indonesian fashion industry as well as a vehicle to demonstrate its wealth in talents and creativity. Ultimately, the goal is to turn Jakarta as a major fashion hub in the region and the world.
The third Jakarta Fashion Week will be held November 14th-20th at the Pacific Place shopping mall in South Jakarta in a collaboration between the Municipal Government of Jakarta, major stakeholders of the fashion industry as well as the media.The Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011 theme is Styling Modernity.
The JFW is organized by event management company Azura Activation, part of the publishing company Femina Group, which since its founding in 1971 has been active in promoting the Indonesian fashion industry through various editorial initiatives as well as events.
Country chic, shabby chic, cottage chic - what have you - this soft style is exceptionally soothing in the bedroom. Layers of texture, distressed wood, and pale colors create a warm, cozy environment. If I could choose a different genre of design for every room in a house (which I wouldn't, but let's just pretend) it would definitely be country chic in the bedroom. So soft yet still sophisticated, these bedrooms make me want to curl up with a good book and stay in bed all day long. Tempting, isn't it?

Earlier this year, my girl Suez and i dropped a Dj set at Good Vibrations Festival. We were lucky enough to spin at the artist afterparty as well and one of the faces we stumbled across was Plan B. I'd been spinning the A-track remix of "More is Enough" for ages......was nice to see B genuinelysurprised anyone in Australia actually knew who he was. All my knowledge of him was rap based so when he told me he had a vocal track coming out i laughed and asked if he could actually sing..........apparently i need to eat my words.....move over Daniel Merriweather
These works are from the 'People' series by Wendy MacNaughton. Her watercolor and ink illustrations are both wonderfully detailed and understated. The subjects walk the caricature line finely without losing the emotion of a realistic rendering. Wendy has a degree in both art and social work (I think we'd have some things in common) and has an accomplished an impressive amount of humanitarian deeds. I mentioned earlier that I'd started taking voice classes in order to improve my sound. I'm really glad I did because there are so many valuable things that I've learnt because of this training. This is valuable information that could interest anyone be you a closet rock star or seasoned opera singer. Enjoy
1. Do not clear your throat by doing that close-mouthed coughing thing. It scratches your vocal cords and can cause you to lose your voice. Instead drink water or swallow/ lightly cough in order to clear your throat.
2. Drink TONNES of Water. Try really hard to avoid singing with a dry throat. It is aweful for your voice and doesn't sound good.
3.Don't listen and critique yourself while singing. What you hear yourself sing is different from what others here from you.
4. When you have a cough or any sickness that harms your throat do not sing.
5. Always warm up your voice before singing . Sing a particular phrase with increasing pitch and decreasing pitches or you could sing through the scales (your do-re-mis).
6.If your voice tends to be dry, drinking milk or eating chocolate some time before practice can actually help.
7. If you have a vocal performance coming up, warming up and daily practice is really important, and even if you don't have one coming up, warming up your voice at the beginning of the day is usually good, especially if you tend to sing a lot randomly throughout the day like me.
8. When singing higher notes, breathe deeper and try to open all your airways as much as you can. This is important because the tendency is that the higher we go, the more we want to close up because of innate fear of the high notes.
9. When the air is really free and you are singing on or near the top of your range, a lovely thing called vibratto can happen in which your voice sort of vibrates (haha) on whatever pitch you are singing. It's beautiful when it's natural but you shouldn't force it because it can be really bad for your voice. Also it doesn't sound as nice.
10. Always sing from your diaphragm: Seriously. I didn't take this seriously until I lost my voice the day of my voice final, after practicing everywhere I could the week up to my final. I woke up and it was gone. Thankfully my professor was lenient and I still ended up doing well but honestly try to make a conscious effort to sing from your diaphragm by using deep breaths that fill your stomach to sing.

Hello my lovelies! I am so sorry I have been away for awhile. I was preparing for my finals for the last couple of weeks, so I had no time at all do any updates or even respond to emails for that matter. However, I finished everything on Tuesday night, and I am back home at my parent's house! I have been catching up on sleep because my doctor said I was overworking myself, and my blood pressure was a bit low. It feels so good to rest! If you sent me an email or question in the past few weeks and haven't received a reply, I will get to you asap. My inbox is pretty chaotic with random emails so I need to sort through it.
So yesterday after I went to the doctor, I did a mini drugstore haul at CVS and Walgreens because I haven't done any beauty related shopping in awhile. There were a few sales I wanted to check out.
CVS was having a BOGO50 for Maybelline and Milani items, and I've been wanting to get their new Eye Studio quads for such a long time. I originally wanted to wait until they had a BOGO, but I didn't want to wait any longer so I just decided to get them.
I got one in 'Give Me Gold' and 'Sunset Seduction'. The swatches are without a base. I haven't used them yet so I can't say much about them yet. I think I'll do a review on it later on.
As for the Milani polishes, I got them in 'Hi-Res' and 'Cyberspace'. They are both from the holographic line, and they are just glittery goodness. They remind me a lot of the OPI Designer Series. Last, I picked up the Rimmel brow pencil in 'Hazel' at Walmart, because I wanted to try filling in my brows with a pencil. I usually fill them in with a powder, but I wanted to try pencil since I've never used one before.
In other news, since I haven't posted this yet, I wanted to announce that I've hit 300 followers! Thank you everyone who have followed and supported my blog! It makes me so happy that there are people who find my posts interesting or helpful haha XD! I am thinking about doing a little mini giveaway soon just to say my thanks :)

Last night, as I was reading Twelfth Night in the second floor lounge of the Law Building, one of my favorite songs ever Leave Out All The Restby Linkin Park, came on and all thoughts of what would become of Olivia and Orsino instantly abandoned my mind. You see, a couple of days ago, a fellow sophomore died and although I didn't know him I was deeply saddened because I know what it feels like to lose someone, especially someone that was close to you in age, because it just reminds of our mortality. I've been thinking a lot about goals lately and this sad event combined with the song made me think about goals in a whole new way. This song's lyrics are so full of meaning I just have to write it all, because I could never put it better:

My Reasons to be missed
I want to be missed because...
I am a caring and loving person.
I give myself completely to the people and causes I care about.
My art work and the way I lived my life inspired and continues to inspire people.
I want to be that person. I'm not there yet but I will work on it and hopefully I will be there one day.
I feel like finding out your reasons to be missed is enough of a seeking inspiration exercise today so good luck in your search and when you're done may I suggest immortalising them by: ?writing them down on an inspiration board
