Plan B - Preyin'

por | | 0 comments
Earlier this year, my girl Suez and i dropped a Dj set at Good Vibrations Festival. We were lucky enough to spin at the artist afterparty as well and one of the faces we stumbled across was Plan B. I'd been spinning the A-track remix of "More is Enough" for ages......was nice to see B genuinely surprised anyone in Australia actually knew who he was. All my knowledge of him was rap based so when he told me he had a vocal track coming out i laughed and asked if he could actually sing..........apparently i need to eat my words.....move over Daniel Merriweather

Hair, man.

por | | 0 comments

I just got my hair cut. I was tired of the long plain jane locks. And what better way to flaunt the thick, shiny hair I was blessed with than with a fresh, classic cut. Kind of a bob. Here, darlings. Take a look.

Anywho, I'm really digging the new hair. My only problem is that it isn't terribly wash and wear. I'm a low maintenance gal as far as hair styling goes. The style you see above is the result of my talented hairdresser and her expertise with a straightener, blow dryer, a round comb. Also a lil bit of makeup, since I was all dolled up for a day out with Maura, Helene, and Lily. Now the image you are about to see below is the result of doing my usual showering before bed, then letting it all dry overnight.

I know both photos don't exactly give the best idea of how the hair sits, but I'm all about flattering angles over all else, so bear with me. Now I want to know what you think. Is the cut done up wash and wear drab enough to make daily styling worth it? Or should I save the straightener for special occasions? I need your input, lovelies.

It's Spring Break!

por | | 0 comments

Hello my lovelies! I am so sorry I have been away for awhile. I was preparing for my finals for the last couple of weeks, so I had no time at all do any updates or even respond to emails for that matter. However, I finished everything on Tuesday night, and I am back home at my parent's house! I have been catching up on sleep because my doctor said I was overworking myself, and my blood pressure was a bit low. It feels so good to rest! If you sent me an email or question in the past few weeks and haven't received a reply, I will get to you asap. My inbox is pretty chaotic with random emails so I need to sort through it.

So yesterday after I went to the doctor, I did a mini drugstore haul at CVS and Walgreens because I haven't done any beauty related shopping in awhile. There were a few sales I wanted to check out.

It's Spring Break!CVS was having a BOGO50 for Maybelline and Milani items, and I've been wanting to get their new Eye Studio quads for such a long time. I originally wanted to wait until they had a BOGO, but I didn't want to wait any longer so I just decided to get them.

It's Spring Break!I got one in 'Give Me Gold' and 'Sunset Seduction'. The swatches are without a base. I haven't used them yet so I can't say much about them yet. I think I'll do a review on it later on.

As for the Milani polishes, I got them in 'Hi-Res' and 'Cyberspace'. They are both from the holographic line, and they are just glittery goodness. They remind me a lot of the OPI Designer Series. Last, I picked up the Rimmel brow pencil in 'Hazel' at Walmart, because I wanted to try filling in my brows with a pencil. I usually fill them in with a powder, but I wanted to try pencil since I've never used one before.

In other news, since I haven't posted this yet, I wanted to announce that I've hit 300 followers! Thank you everyone who have followed and supported my blog! It makes me so happy that there are people who find my posts interesting or helpful haha XD! I am thinking about doing a little mini giveaway soon just to say my thanks :)

I hope to have another post this weekend so look out for that!

To Be or Not To Be – Lady Bug

To Be or Not To Be – Lady Bug
Another new design in the charmed versions I’m doing. This one has been referred to as a “Lady Bug”; the center focal is a murano glass large puffy red heart with black pot-a-dots. All around are hand-charmed pieces in freshwater cultured button pearls, bicone Swarovski Fire Opal crystals that bring out the deep red of the crystal among the orange, black onyx smooth tube and round blackTo Be or Not To Be – Lady Bug agate stones.

Nestled among the pieces I done double twist coils in artistic non-tarnish wire; along with the stationary swirls at either end; with the nesting of the charms, you could wear this necklace either direction giving it two different looks.

To Be or Not To Be – Lady Bug

I really enjoy making these new pendant necklaces; so watch out for more of these to hit our online shop soon!

Best of 2010 from our Southwest Flair Collection

por | | 0 comments
Our Southwest Flair collection is an array of natural stones such as turquoise, bamboo coral, magnesite, onyx, and spiny oyster just to name a few. Many of the styles reflect classic traditions of the southwest, while others take on a little modern and trendy look but still focusing on the use of the southwest or indian stones. Here’s a look back at this year’s Best/Favorites for 2010.

Three strands of natural turquoise chips and tiny onyx tube stones surround slender rare and exotic Arizona ivoryite stones and a hint of silver metals between. This is a favorite with the bold colors of turquoise in green, brown, black, rust and a hint of blue in some of the stones; set against strong smooth ivoryite.

A little bit of bold statement in sold red colors starting with red (dyed) coral disks, a large sponge coral pendant; between are beige/red colored lampwork rondelle beads and a mass of antique brass wire mess balls. I used two remaining mess wire balls with a hint of coral as earrings to add a little ‘funky’ to the set.

Here is where classic meets modern starting with a large marquee shaped beige faceted crystal pendant, charms of crystals in the bail and through-out and then I’ve added big nuggets of turquoise, medium rounds and cloisonne beads to finish the necklace.

A bold silver pewter square pendant that is textured, then added rare and exotic Arizona ivoryite and long square turquoise nuggets with a hint of red (dyed) coral and a little more silver pewter barrels and you get a very traditional southwest looking design.
