Thursday, March 17, 2011 por | | 0 comments
I'm trying to decide how to get our wedding party around (in style, of course!) during the three-hour gap between the ceremony and reception. The plan is to do some exploring in the Clear Lake and Galveston area, maybe hit up Kemah and take some portraits in front of the ferris wheel, maybe take a quick walk on the beach.Even though our wedding party is relatively small, with their dates and assorted family members, it could easily get up to 20 people. That's too big for a normal limo! Especially considering my dress will take up three seats :)Option #1: Two traditional limosMy maid of honor...

WEDDING: LGBT Ceremony in Atwater Village

Thursday, March 10, 2011 por | | 0 comments
CONGRATULATIONS, Brandy and Lisa! The smallest wedding ceremonies are so intimate, and so special. There were fewer than twenty guests total, including two male partners who walked their best friend, these two ladies, down the aisle. It was held in a small art gallery on Glendale Blvd. The ceremony concluded with jumping the broom:"To end the ceremony, Karen will place a broom on the ground for Lisa and Brandy to jump over. This is to respect the ancestory of the past...a time where freedoms like these were absent.Brooms themselves symbolize the hearth, which has historically been the center of...

INFO: Outsourcing of Wedding Vows?? BAD Idea!!!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 por | | 0 comments
The Wall Street Journal published an article today about a new trend, which is quite troubling to experienced and certified Celebrant and officiant professionals. The article is from the fabulous Cranky Consumer, and talks about outsourcing one's wedding vows. In fact, it speaks of 'outsourcing' more than the vows part...it suggests leaving it up to a website or computer to spit out the entire ceremony!??The whole notion of outsourcing is fascinating, but a bad idea, nonetheless. This phenomenon of outsourcing vows (and more) is a result of several factours:Clients (couples) who increasingly...
