New section for magnets

Previously, the 4.1x2.6 inch magnet size (considered a 'medium' size) was lumped in with other miscellaneous sizes. However, it's grown popular enough that it will now have it's own page:

WEDDING: At Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton, CA

CONGRATULATIONS, Jenna and Tyler!!!

Sometimes, Mother Nature has a fantastic way of giving gifts. The couple, who planned their outdoor wedding months ago, were faced this week with the possibility of showers, especially after a week of sporadic rainfall... But, after much good energy and positive thinking toward hopes of a sunny day, we were fortunate to have it turn out to be a lovely California afternoon. The dirt beneath the grass was a bit mushy, but not muddy, and the ceremony was a complete success.

Tyler and Jenna are a testament to the term, "go with the flow". They are one of the most easygoing, unstressed couples i have had the pleasure to officiate for! Their lovely, intimate wedding took place with about 60 guests in the lovely grass area of Muckenthaler Cultural Centre. The venue's fantastic staff was led by the unflappable Rick. You are assured to receive the best service in his extremely capable hands.

Many thanks also to Duane, catering director and Muckenthaler events coordinator extraordinaire!

BRIDAL GATHERING - THE NORTH EAST'S BIGGEST BRIDAL SHOW AT RAINTON MEADOWS
Bridal Gathering is a BIG new wedding show being held at Rainton Meadows this Sunday, November 1st.

It's a bold step for the organisers - a first time event for the people behind the north east's newest wedding magazine Belle Bridal.

They have been really busy with this one and have matched it with a Christmas Show too to see how things go - but with over 100 wedding vendors / suppliers, it should be perfect for an afternoon out if you live anywhere in the north east.

It starts at 12pm and last until 5pm .. lots of goody bags of course .. a bridal fashion show ... a FREE champagne lounge area ... and fundraising efforts on the day will be for the Brother's In Arms charity.

I will be there of course - so pop along and say hello - and have a look at my fabulous San Francisco wedding books - which can feature up to 400 photographs from your wedding - brilliant when most books can only feature your favourite 80!

Title: Inception Music Comparison

This occurred to me when I came home after seeing the movie, and was listening to Hans ZImmer's score. I'm not saying the cues we hear in the movie are slowed down. Zimmer appears to be using Piaf's song as a foundation for extrapolation. This phenomenon may be obvious to a lot of you out there, but this video serves as a way for people to hear them side by side and to visualize and understand what Zimmer is doing with the score.

I think the score is terrific.

Recap: Day Before the Wedding

Let the wedding recaps begin!  We've passed our three month anniversary, so I think I've procrastinated enough before showing and telling all the wonderful moments from our wedding day.  First up, the day before the wedding:

The day started out with a quiet breakfast, just Anthony and me, in the hotel restaurant.  At this point, we were both pretty stressed and pretty nervous.  It was wonderful to have some alone time with each other.  I highly recommend scheduling this into your wedding week!  We calm each other down in times of stress, which I'm sure will come in handy in our marriage!


Most of the day was committed to PAMPERING!  My bridesmaids had come from all over the country, so I wanted all of us to feel pampered and beautiful.  I took them to a fabulous restaurant for lunch, Perry's Steakhouse, where I went before my senior prom years ago.  [ Insert flashback here to Clare in a ridiculous beaded prom dress ]  During lunch, I gave them bridesmaid thank-you gifts.


After lunch, we moved on to mani-pedis and more girl talk.



Turns out my mom had never had a modern pedicure, so one sweet 'maid had to talk her through it.  She was a champ!


Later on, it was time for the rehearsal!  I hired day-of coordinators (BEST decision ever!), so I loaded up their SUV with all of my wedding day supplies.  It felt AMAZING to be able to unload all of that, and not have to deal with it on my wedding day.  The coordinators also helped direct the rehearsal with the priest:


My maid of honor brought along the fake bouquet she made me for the rehearsal.  I'm not sure if this is a tradition everywhere, or just in the South.  At all of the bridal showers, the maid of honor collects ribbons from the gifts to make the rehearsal bouquet.


After the rehearsal, we went straight on to the rehearsal dinner.  Unfortunately, I was incredibly nervous after the rehearsal, so I completely forgot to take pictures of the rehearsal dinner AND we forgot to do any toasts!

We had a wonderful location for the dinner, in a private room at Chabuca's, a Brazilian-style churrascaria steakhouse.  Similar to Fogo de Chao, servers walk around with big skewers of meats and cut off what you want.  Plus there's a giant salad bar.  Chabuca's is run by a really nice man from Texas who married a really nice woman from South America, so the price is about a third of Fogo de Chao!  Everyone loved the dinner, because there's literally something for everyone.
