Custom Fabric Aisle Runner for Christine

No matter how you say it, it's the same in any language!   Christine had contacted me for a custom fabric aisle runner that would share the theme from their wedding.  They were doing a collage of "LOVE" using the different languages from their heritage.  What a wonderful idea!  We  added non skid backing to keep it in place and here is the beautiful backdrop for their wedding ceremony!

FALL-ing leaves Wedding Aisle Runner

Lacey had contacted me to do a custom aisle runner for her client's Autumn wedding.  She wanted a three letter monogram with fallen leaves randomly placed throughout the length of the runner.  The monogram was done in rich terra cotta and chocolate colors.  We did the leaves in a matching palette and added a spectacular shimmer paint finish.   Perfect finishing touch!

Based on the common C chord shape. The intro/ outro is inspired by composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) and a technique used in his piece Alborado (Morning serenade).
Excessive use of ritardando/ accelerando - diminuendo/ crescendo :)

Recording info: For the album I tried using a stereo setup for a couple of songs (this and A Whiter Shade of Pale). I positioned the Rode NT2-A like I normally do, and then a Rode NT3 "pointing at the bridge", so to speak. It sounds pretty nice and gives a very wide sound image. However, I´m not sure it´s really necessary.

In this video I´m actually playing back to the (upcoming) album version, which was a real challenge... Phew...

Btw, if you´re interested, I recently added free TABs for Laura Palmer´s Theme, Ode to Billie Joe and Foggy Mountain Breakdown. I´ll post a Foggy Mountain Breakdown video once I´m properly warmed up - more banjo style madness.

WEDDING: LGBT Ceremony in Atwater Village

CONGRATULATIONS, Brandy and Lisa!

The smallest wedding ceremonies are so intimate, and so special. There were fewer than twenty guests total, including two male partners who walked their best friend, these two ladies, down the aisle. It was held in a small art gallery on Glendale Blvd.

The ceremony concluded with jumping the broom:

"To end the ceremony, Karen will place a broom on the ground for Lisa and Brandy to jump over. This is to respect the ancestory of the past...a time where freedoms like these were absent.

Brooms themselves symbolize the hearth, which has historically been the center of the home. The handle of the broom represents a common source of spiritual strength, while the broom’s straws represent the new family Lisa and Brandy created today. There is a ribbon to symbolize the love and commitment that ties everything together.

As they jump from one side to the other, they leave their former lives as individuals and enter a new life together as a married couple. The broom is an opportunity to sweep away past difficulties, problems and fears, as today is a new beginning for Brandy and Lisa.

Everyone, please join in and count to three!"

HEADLAM HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

HEADLAM HALL IS A GREAT LOCATION FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER'S DREAM AND FOR THOSE BRIDES WHO CHOOSE SUCH A FANTASTIC WEDDING VENUE FOR THEIR SUMMER OR WINTER WEDDING, THERE'S ALWAYS A GREAT WELCOME AND SERVICE FROM STAFF.

One of my recent weddings was for Rachel and Jonathan who wanted a really chilled out wedding with their closest family and friends at St Godric's Church in Durham with a wedding reception at Headlam Hall on the border between North Yorkshire, Teesdale and County Durham - and they got their wish!

Both training to be dentists, I had met with them at Headlam Hall with Rachel's mum too about 18 months or so before their wedding, just chatting and laughing about their plans for their wedding in Durham and their plans for their reception at Headlam Hall.

It was a beautiful day in August and the gathering friends and relatives at St Godric's Church on the hill close to Durham were full of excited chatter about the day ahead. Jonathan was calm cool and collected, and later, when Rachel arrived in her beautiful classic Jaguar car, not only did she look stunning, but she was also pretty cool and relaxed too.

The wedding ceremony was fun too, and the clergy were kind enough to allow me to discreetly take photographs during the ceremony from the front of the church - usually no bother in a Catholic church, but rare in a C of E Church nowadays.

The 'secret' garden lay down pas a car park, and through a covered walkway, and down the side of a house which opened out into quite the best viewpoint of Durham Cathedral I have seen - and terrific for a few formal family wedding photographs before we headed to Headlam Hall.

Headlam Hall, along with Crathorne Hall is one of the finest wedding venues for civil ceremonies and receptions for many, many miles around. One of my all time favourite venues.

Service, attention to detail and staff are second to none - highly recommended

Champagne and canapes with the vast gardens at the guests' disposal gave me the chance to capture the fun and atmosphere of the day and after an hour or so of relaxed conversation in the sun, I quickly gathered close relatives together together with siblings and bridesmaids for a few quick, relaxed group shots and one main photograph of the whole party on the lawn - total 10 minutes, everyone was smiling, that laughed at my silly jokes and the photographs looked great!

Why does it take so many 'wedding photographers' so looooong to complete these images?

Into the Edwardian Suite for the wedding breakfast which was superb as always, and then tears, laughter and fun during some excellent speeches - giving me lots of photograph opportunities.

By the end of the fun, it was 7pm and it was time for me to grab Rachel and Jonathan for 15 minutes to create some nice photographs of them together in the grounds - but return them in time to greet their evening guests and ready themselves for their first dance and the fun of the evening ahead!

I left about 9pm, the party was in full swing ... and I was off to edit their photographs so they would be ready on their return from the Far East from honeymoon.

Nice bridal shower invitation

Photostrip save the dates

One of the fun ideas that floats around for wedding save the dates is:

A strip of photographs. It reminds couples of when they hopped into a photo booth and made faces at the camera- goofing around and having fun.

Often people will want to hold up signs with "save" "the" "date" for their photographs. Sometimes this works well, but sometimes, I recommend that the couple have to re-write the words so that they come through nice and clear.

There are a couple of magnet sizes that kind of work for this idea: 2x5.5 and 2x8 inches.

There is a card size that works even better with this idea though- 2.75x8 inches. There is enough room for a nice border around the photographs and some wording in a fun font.
