I hope that you are well & are having a great start to the New Year! I wanted to thank you for the great job you did on our photography & videography for our wedding last year (Memorial Day ’09)!

Carlos & Mark – Thank you so much for the amazing job on our montage/recap video! Including the wrap-up video at the end of the reception really helped to tie everything together. Not only was it great that people who missed our ceremony were able to see a few moments from our ceremony/vows, but it also helped people who were there to better hear some of the vows that we wrote for each other. Both women & men teared up during the final wrap-up & we received so many compliments on the excellent work that you did. The quality of the work you did is reflected in the fact that one of our close friends has recently booked your team for her upcoming 2010 wedding (Tara & Jose).

Alex – Thank you so much for the amazing job you did on our pictures from the wedding! The timing of your shots was impeccable – particularly the one of our groomsman George doing a straddle jump over Paul while he was doing a one-armed push-up - & the pictures you took during one of our attendants break-dancing sessions. We are so grateful to you for capturing all of the important & exciting moments so that we can remember the great times we had on our wedding day.

Ryan – Thank you so much for your guidance & advice throughout the process & for the amazing job you did on our engagement pictures in ’08 at the Castle at Skylands Manor.

Planning for Under the Dress

My first wedding dress alterations fitting is coming up, so I needed to find all the undergarments for under the dress.  Guys, you might want to skip this post!

Tip: Always take everything you'll be wearing on your wedding day to every alterations fitting (including undergarments and shoes), so that the fit is perfect and there are no surprises.

Spanx, of course!  I love Spanx for smoothing everything out.  I already have this style, so I'm set.

I decided on a simple strapless bustier (also called a longline bra), to give support up top and control my curves.  I tried looking around at department stores and Victoria's Secret.  They only had one or two to try, and none fit me well or felt like I could wear it all day.

I finally went to Petticoat Fair in Austin on a friend's recommendation.  Best wedding decision ever!  This small lingerie shop is leaps and bounds better than department stores or Victoria's Secret.  You get a personal saleswoman for the entire time you're there to size you correctly, find what you're looking for, and help decide which bra has the best fit.

I absolutely recommend going to a smaller, non-chain lingerie shop when you're shopping for your wedding.  The saleswoman pulled out SIX bustiers she thought would look good and helped put them on me.  We finally selected this one and I absolutely love it.  It fits PERFECTLY!

Tip: Take your wedding dress with you when shopping for undergarments.  It sounds odd, but my saleswoman specifically asked me if I had it with me, so we could check if the bra showed through the dress.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE WEDDING VENUES CRATHORNE HOTEL IS HOTEL OF THE YEAR

One of my favourite wedding venues in north Yorkshire has been named one of the best in Britain.

Crathorne Hall Hotel near Yarm has been awarded Hand Picked Hotels’ Hotel of the Year 2009.

Hand Picked Hotels, a collection of 17 country house hotels located across the UK, holds an annual ceremony with Hotel of the Year the most prestigious of three awards selected by chairman and chief executive, Julia Hands.

Other awards include Consistent Hotel of the Year, which was won by Crathorne Hall Hotel in 2008, and Most Improved Hotel of the Year.

Saltburn-born Mark Clayton has been general manager of Crathorne Hall since June 2008.

Gamer/Geek Wedding Possiblities?

For the tech-ishly inclined reception, bachelor/ette party, etc. etc...introducing...THE GAME SQUAD.

So, i was driving up the 5 freeway in South County today, and i drove up and passed this monstrous truck pulling a huge winnebago-ish trailer. It was decorated as if it was a giant Best Buy advertisement for video games...and if you know me, you know how much i loathe commercials, especially commercials on wheels. But NO! It turns out Game Squad is a private company, where they bring what looks like this ginormous LAN party to you! Check out their website, and in the meantime, i'm going to try and contact them and bring more details, such as...

• How much does it cost? For what period of time?
• What kind of gear are they running? Is it all battery powered?
• What kind of network? i'd love to take a peek inside the inner workings...
• They look like mostly RPG, but they must have driving and first person shooter games, and stuff like Rockband...?
• Who's behind this awesome idea?

And thus i wish they had more info on their site. And i wish they had photos of, um, adults playing in the trailer...although, i suppose most of us already have a similar setup in our own homes? And my last wish was that they had better SEO...it was kinda hard finding them online.

What a cool idea. Why didn't they have this when WE got married, 15 years ago!!??

First of all,'WE LIVE TOGETHER IN REAL LIFE AND THIS IS NOT A REAL WEDDING, WE DID THIS FOR FUN'. I met someone playing world of warcraft that changed my life, so i moved to be with her and the best we could do at the time was this, also it was alot of fun for us and guild members involved. So please dont think we are computer geeks, internet lovers or anything of the sort. We are just 2 people that found eachother through a way that is well known to most people in this generation, the internet, and we are meant to be together...So I would just like to say, video games such as "world of warcraft" do have happy stories like ours. Thank you Blizzard entertainment for making this happen, without picking up a game one day and getting on the net, I would never have found the person whome I want to spend the rest of my life with...

One extra thing for anybody who reads this description as of the 22/11/07. We just had a baby daughter. I'M A DAD!!! :D ,

Update 13-Jan-2010.....And for those of you that want to know if we play Warcraft anymore, no we don't, we did for a couple of years but we lost interest a long time ago now. We all still use computers a lot as it is the way the world is going, but online gaming is something we no longer find interesting, it is much more fun to enjoy life for what it is than for what it isn't.
Although, I still give credit for online gaming as without it I would not have the life and family I have now.
